Suggestion For Heroes Ascent
Heroes Ascent: (matches decided by caller vs. Infuser) ...ty kill count...
The place where most of the pvp takes place in guild wars.
99% Spike , FOTM = Not fun even for the winners. Only thing to look forward to is the chest, which gives a damn sigil. Takes 1 Hr average waiting time to get a group. (im Rank 9... and advertise I dont care about rank so i can just get in and play) the hero emote means nothing anymore... A Phoenix means absolutely nothing to a top rated guild beacause of how cheap HA is now. This is the reality of HA.
I could go on for Hours....
So what can we do to fix this without having to recreate HA? Simple use GvG style play for HA, yes this means longer matches but more fame can be rewarded per win. The "HoH" could be a random gvg map or HoH could be made into a gvg style map. This could be done with 3 teams! This allows anyone in game to get a chance to experience the gvg style of play.
As of right now people must ...
1. Join a guild - which is usually bad especially for newer or less experienced players.
2. Be on at the same time at least 6 of those people are and be on for lets say 2 hrs at least.
3. Participate regularly in matches to keep up with meta and become a better player.
This system is simply not possible for 70%+ of GW players. the requirements to ever start a gvg match eliminate most people that "would" participate.
No one will argue that Gvg is the highest level of pvp and is the "most Fun"
If Heroes Ascent would be changed to this format people could pug GvG style HA matches all day long, and then join up with their guild to actually do real gvgs.
The results:
1. More people would play HA all the time
2. More People would respect Hero rank again
3. Would bring some of the fan base back to GW that left sometime ago.
4. Halls would be "more Fun"
5. Guilds could practice builds strategies and tactics, before they actually do the real gvg match in the tourney or ladder system.
6. ***MOST IMPORTANTLY*** Halls would be decided for the most part by tactics not mindlessly killing the other team faster than they can kill you.
I have more ideas for the other arenas and i will make new threads for those as well.
Any fellow pvpers if you respond to this thread please /agree or /disagree.

But then it wouldnt be HA?
At least all the previous additional gametype changes to HoH were a sort of modification (or bastardization) of existing HA gametypes.

Wait, so you say make HA into basically GvG? I don't see how this will increase the number of pugs, as it gets even more complicated to set up. Sure more people would experience GvG style combat, but the amount of people playing the HA version of GvG will go down. It also won't increase respect for the Hero title, since most high ranked players already got their high ranks, and it'll just make it harder for lower ranked players to climb ranks.
PUG HA, regardless of whether or not it's GvG style is not going to be fun, especially when the PUG is really bad. At least in the current system, everyone knows you go out and kill stuff in UW. If all of a sudden complex strategies of splits, pressure, NPC advantage, VOD all get implemented, those new players can never learn.
Guilds can already practice their builds either through scrimming or just using the +2/-2 ladder.

Please.. its not complicated to set up for gvg. 2 wars, 1 ranger, 1 messie, 2 ele , 2 monk. There basic gvg build. By the way this game is called "Guild Wars" which in short means this game was designed for GvG. With that in mind I really do not think people will miss HA. The spike teams will still be able to play but they will have to deal with the other teams tactics.
No more saying **** it were going against SF way on underworld. Im sorry but its actually easier to move around and avoid AOE on gvg maps than it is in HA. And you have the option to split. You say guilds have the option to scrim? Well my friend that must be set up sometimes taking a week in advance to get both guilds together. An automated HA system would work for the same reason FPS work. You log in, You enter a server, You find a Group, you play. Requirements would be lowered for people LFG becuase there is no penalty for losing. And everyone likes the GvG format.

Don't like this idea too much but I think that something needs to be done about HoH
It does not work too well at the moment and needs some changes

I'd like to start PvPing, but it's hard to find a party, and guild doesn't want to play PvP much, I just want a random HA

NO.
HA needs some fixing but making it gvg is not a good idea. A new map that encourages splitting may be good, which is sorta kinda halfway your idea, but making it full gvg like, is not.
